Colour Your Own Issue! - #5

We're back you lovelies and will now be coming to you quarterly!

We start the year bringing you weird, fun filled imagery, stripped down and rendered in crisp beautiful black and white line work, ready for your imagination to take over and do the rest!

A 40 page 'Colour Your Own Issue' edition!

The act of choosing a colour to create your picture and the repetitive action of colouring focuses the brain and can potentially block out any intrusive or negative thoughts, creating a way to calm the mind and occupy the body. With studies showing that people who have creative activities outside of work deal with stress better, it’s safe to say that you’ve got nothing to lose by giving colouring in a go.

Many of us remember colouring as a child and how much fun it was!

It should be simple, right? Just pick up a book and start colouring, but most of us haven't coloured in for over 20 years lol, so here are some tips to get you started...

  • There is no right or wrong way to colour.
  • There are no rules or boundaries.
  • You can choose colours that you like, various colour combinations or simply go with the flow.
  • Always test any markers or gel pens you use on a page in the back or the cover page to check to see if it bleeds through.
  • Slip a piece of paper behind the page your are colouring to protect the pages behind from denting them if you have a heavy hand or bleed through issues.
  • Sharpen your pencil more than you think you need to.
  • Slow down it's not a race.
  • Add stuff to the image if you want. Draw on it, change it up a bit.
  • Have fun and colour outside the lines if you want... it's ok!

Grab your pencils, crayons and pens, and get busy!
